BBA Black Mamba

ABV: 6.5%

Purchased At: Ridgewood Wine and Beer, Raleigh, NC for $8.99 for a 22oz Bomber Bottle.

Blues Music: Pandora Internet Radio – Stevie Ray Vaughan Radio – “Rude Mood” – Stevie Ray Vaughan, “Driver Wheel” – Bernard Allison, “Call it Stormy Monday (Live)” – Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan, “What’d I Say (Live)” - Ray Charles, “Nice and Warm” – Jonny Lang, “Sittin’ on Top of the World” – Jeff Healy and “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down & Out (Unplugged) – Eric Clapton.

2nd Evening Cigar: This cigar was way too damn good to just enjoy with just one beer, still smoking an Oliva Master Blends Robusto from 2003.

Aviator Brewing Company “Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Mamba Oatmeal Stout” poured with a damn nice three-finger, creamy, tan head and was an opaque Chocolate Brown in color.

The immediate smell was rich sweet Malts. Secondary aromas I detected were Chocolate and Oatmeal.

The initial first and last taste were heavy but very tasty in my opinion. “BBA Black Mamba Oatmeal Stout” had a sweet and tart flavor to it.

This oatmeal stout has an explosion of flavor created by dark roasted grains, and a 2 row barley. A full bodied oatmeal stout that has tastes of chocolate and a smoothness from the oatmeal.

“BBA Black Mamba Oatmeal Stout” had a chewy mouthfeel to it….again, this is a beer I could eat with a spoon!

Additional flavors and tastes I picked up on were most definitely the bourbon, along with Chocolate, Molasses and Coffee.

Good Job3

Buy Again: Yes, I will be getting more just to see how this will age!

Overall Rating: I give Aviator Brewing Company “Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Mamba Oatmeal Stout” a 9.5 out of 10.
